Rescue Program
WE NOW HAVE OPENINGS AVAILABLE FOR BIRDS AND FERRETS IN NEED OF RESCUING!
For the first time in Northwest Indiana, abused, neglected, and homeless birds and ferrets can be rescued and treated with the proper care, dignity, and respect that all of God's creatures deserve.
Our rescue program provides all types of caged birds and ferrest with veterinary care-when required, adequate housing, nutritious food, love, and the chance to live in peace,
until they are able to be adopted by loving families. Our rescued bird remain in a knowledgable and loving foster home while awaiting adoption.
They are not housed in a facility.
NWIBA adoptions are to not only to NWIBA members, but also to responsible community members. Many community members have praised us on our local efforts!
We do not adopt out for scientific research, breeding, or for public display. Our adoptees must be returned to our rescue center if an adoption does not
work out.
Additionally, the NWIBA rescue program strives to provide top quality information for those who need a helping hand raising a healthy, happy, caged bird and ferret!
Please understand that each bird and ferret we adopt out has an associated adoption fee. The adoption fee is not negotiable. These fees are considered a donation, and are tax-deducatable. Fees associated with adoption help to offset the costs incurred with proper housing, medical
care, appropriate diet, and any other fees incurred. The fees do not include cage, or food.
The NWIBA is an offical non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation that has been around since 2001. Surrendering your bird or Ferret and cages maybe considered a tax-deductable donation. We are an organization of
members who truly are devoted to the love, care, and needs of all caged birds. When considering surrendering your bird or ferret, please consider us to be second to none
in fulfilling the ultimate happiness of your bird, as well as successful adoptions!
